While looking at Blogs this morning I came across a photo of an old Printer box full of thimbles that Hanne has collected. When I saw this I became a bit excited and came up with an idea!!
The reason for my excitement was because I knew what was in my garden shed.
After scruffing around in all our "not-being-used" things I found my own old printer box in all its glory...complete with decorative cobwebs.
It seems a shame to store the box in the shed, so I thought I might start collecting thimbles too....

(I hope you don't mind if I copy your wonderful idea Hanne?)
So my idea is this....
Is anyone interested in a thimble swap? I would send you a Tasmanian thimble and you could in return send me a thimble from your home place, town or country.
Let me know if you are interested !!

I am interested!
Hi, I'm not a collector, but I would be glad to send you one!
Wow, with all the stuff in my sewing room, I just realized, I haven't one single pretty thimble! I didn't know I had a thimble-deficit disorder. I am interested in the exchange, but it may take me a while to locate a quality thimble. Also, thanks for the link to the new blog.
Karmen
I will exchange with you...I will find you a really nice one from Ireland.

That sounds like a great idea. I am going on a weekender to the beaches of South Carolina and will see what I can find. I didn't know that quilters collected these anymore. I have a few old (really old)steel ones from hubby's grannie. I still use them. By all the excitement, I think you're gonna need another box.
Rosie
I'm not a collector of them, Cathy, but if I find one for Charters Towers it's yours! :-)
I use a printer box for my thimble collection also.
