Grabbed by Granny

Last night I took part in February's Friday night with Friends. What a great idea and thanks to Cheryl for organising it. It definitely motivated me to stitch. So what did I achieve, Well....

I finally gave in to the urge to join the Granny Brigade.

I love Granny square bankets and still remember my Nan crocheting many blankets for all of her grandchildren. She taught me to crochet, although I havent for years, another urge I am trying really hard to ignore. One day I will make a crochet blanket of Granny squares though, it is only a matter of time...
Until then i can admire blankets like this one made by Carina-

But for now I am content to take part in The Great Granny Along and make quilt blocks. So last night I made three blocks. They were lots of fun and I love seeing how they look when finally put together...

The all blue block is my favourite so far, which one do you like best??

Very pretty blocks Cathy. The blue and red is my favourite but they all look good together. The crochet cotton colours are divine these days......another project for the list.

I can't choose either. I guess we'll get to see the full effect when you finish a whole heap of them. One thing's for sure; the white makes all of them pop.

Love your Grannies. Be sure and join the flickr group! I'm going to try to finish piecing mine today. Then was thinking of doing one in the fabrics I'm going to give away in our February giveaway.

Cheery wave!

They are beautiful Cathy. I made a small granny square quilt last year. It's a great way to make the blocks.
